A Summery New Travel Mug
We’ve been adding quite a few products to the Pretty and Preppy lineup using the fun, new fabrics we’ve gotten in lately at Lola Pink Fabrics.
I just love this new travel mug featuring the Paisley Summer fabric from Valori Wells’ new Nest collection.
Say Hello to My Evil Green Friend …

Caught this monster caterpillar going to town on my trumpet plant this morning. Guaranteed he would have had the entire plant devoured by tomorrow. Check out the mouth on this sucker ..

He’s kinda cute in a creepy, squishy, green kinda way. I couldn’t kill him so I threw him in the front yard. I supposed that’s not exactly going to get rid of him but the thought of stepping on him grossed me out too much. Hopefully he’ll move on to one of my neighbor’s houses. Sorry neighbor!
Today on my birthday I decided to splurge on some great gifts for myself. I love birthdays especially when they are mine!! So what did I get …
1. Navy blue / madras plaid Tretorn sneakers from Eddie Bauer. It was love at first site. I’m mean seriously, what’s not to love .. Navy blue, madras plaid, Tretorn, sneakers … I have such a weakness for sneakers especially preppy ones!
2. Cherry Me demi apron from The Hip Hostess. I have had my eye on this apron for a long, long time. When she tweeted a 20% off coupon code today, I had to jump on it. Now, do I take up cooking or just walk around the house looking cute? I’m thinking continue letting the hubby do all the cooking and I’ll just stand around looking super cute!
3. Sigh … I stopped by the nursery today to get the plants listed and they were CLOSED. How dare they be closed on my birthday when I desperately want some new plants?! Oh-well, I shall get the plants tomorrow.
4. Gauzy-cotton fabric to make the Shearwater Kaftan from Make It Perfect. I love this pattern and actually have the fabric they used for the cover shot but it’s really, expensive fabric and I don’t want to mess up on it. So while I was out today, I find this super cute airy fabric from Hancock’s that I shall use first.
5. Madras plaid fabric to make the Burda 7517 pattern that I saw featured on a blog earlier this month. I also have some red and white plaid seersucker fabric to use as well. I love the pattern so much why not have two dresses using it?!
6. Craft books … my new weakness! I intended on buying just one book, Martha Stewart’s Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts and ended up buying 6 .. 3 of which haven’t even been released yet. I told you I have a new weakness!
7. A large, White Russian, frozen daiquiri … YUM! It’s summertime, it’s my birthday, I’ve been sick all weekend so why not!
I absolutely LOVE this fabric from Valori Wells’ new Nest collection. It is so bright, fun, and summery! I think I duvet cover made from this fabric would be gorgeous!
The fabric can be purchased by the yard here ~ Valori Wells Nest Paisley Summer.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the collection. It is all so lovely! Valori Wells Nest at Lola Pink Fabrics.

Found this cute Lilly Pulitzer half apron with browsing Etsy today. Love the blue and lime green print! You can find more Lilly awesomeness in L Whelan Designs’ Etsy shop.
I am in desperate need of some new kitchen towels. Seriously, I know some of my towels go back more than 10 years ~ yikes!
I love the towels from Oh, Little Rabbit’s shop on Etsy. My only fear though is that I would buy them but never use them ‘cuz they are just too dang cute!
Be sure to check out their other towels and goodies ~ love them!
We finally opened up our off-Etsy website and we are so freaking excited!! It’s not that we grew tired of Etsy (Hi, Etsy … love you!), we just felt it was time to spread our wings some and try to attract a wider audience. For now, we will still keep the Etsy site stocked with all the latest fabrics.
The response we’ve gotten so far has been amazing although would someone really tell me if they thought it sucked?? Don’t know … I would hope someone would maybe nicely tell me things I could improve upon. So, we’ll just go with everyone thinking our site is awesome! :) We’d love to know what you think … but please be kind.
